Get moving, couch potatoes! According to Venture Beat, startup company Biba is teaming up with PlayPower, a playground equipment maker, to make the an augmented reality mobile app that will encourage kids to play outside and exercise more. The app motivates kids to constantly be on their feet by using the instructions from a parent’s smartphone to play a selection of space-invader games on the playground. Not to worry parents, you will have control of your smartphone the entire time because it is your job to act as the game’s referee. The app works by connecting a smartphone to a special code embedded in PlayPower’s playground equipment which then gives your app game instructions.
