Authors Pose Critical Questions Surrounding Spectrum Incentive Auction

Last week, Barry Umansky and Dom Caristi from the Digital Policy Institute penned a list of top questions that policymakers, auction bidders, and consumers should be thinking about regarding the FCC’s upcoming spectrum incentive auction.

The questions covered hot topics surrounding the reverse auction, the repacking process, and the forward auction, including the outcome based on any imposed participation limits and the amount of revenue raised.  The piece also warns that while the success of the incentive auction is critical, it alone will likely not be enough to fulfill the increasing demand for wireless services dependent on scarce spectrum resources.
