| Mobile Future Coalition Welcomes Spectrum Inventory Initiative WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chairmen Henry A. Waxman (D. Calif.) and Rick Boucher (D. VA), and Ranking Members Joe Barton (R. Texas) and Cliff Stearns (R. Fla) , have introduced H.R. 3125, the Radio Spectrum Inventory Act – a bill that would direct the FCC and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to conduct an inventory of spectrum use and annually consider recommending the reallocation of any underutilized frequencies. It is similar in some respects to a Senate bill introduced in March that was passed by the Senate Commerce Committee today. Mobile Future Statement on the Public Policy Institute of California’s Statewide Survey:Californians and Information TechnologyWASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) released a survey showing that the percentage of Californians with Internet access and a home broadband connection grew last year despite tough economic times. While there is much good news in the report, it shows some disparity in broadband access, particularly in the Hispanic community, but the study does not address the increasing use of wireless technologies in minority communities. |
