Today, Mobile Future sent comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy responding to a request for information on incentivizing federal spectrum users to relinquish or share crucial spectrum resources. Additional spectrum resources are badly needed to address increasing consumer demand for mobile technology and services.
To combat a potential spectrum deficit, the Government should enforce existing measures to make federal spectrum available for commercial use. Any new mechanisms should primarily focus on clearing spectrum for exclusive commercial use, while including cost recovery as well as financial and operational benefits for agency efforts in both clearing and sharing.
