Mobile Future Announces Winners in National Innovation Competition

Mobileys Winners Claim $20,000 in Cash Prizes

(Washington, DC) – Today Mobile Future announced the winners of its second annual mobile innovation competition, The Mobileys. This national competition celebrates and supports early-stage mobile apps, products and services that leverage wireless connectivity in ways that engender meaningful social benefits. Entrepreneurs across the nation submitted their game-changing innovations for the chance to win cash prizes from a $20,000 prize pool – and the results are in!

The winners of the 2014 Mobileys competition are:

  • First Place: Code Blue; San Francisco, CA
  • Second Place: First Derm; San Francisco, CA
  • Third Place: VolunteerMark; Merriam, KS
  • The “People’s Choice Award”: First Derm; San Francisco, CA

The Mobileys Grand Prize Winner is Code Blue, a mobile support system that helps young people experiencing depression or bullying get immediate help. Code Blue serves as a ‘panic button’ for teens in need of a rapid response support system. The $10,000 prize money will help support further development of the app.

Taking both the People’s Choice Award and the Second Place prize is First Derm, a San Francisco-based mobile app that increases the accessibility of professional dermatological advice. Third place was awarded to VolunteerMark, pioneering mobile-friendly software that facilitates communication, scheduling and reporting between organizations and their volunteers.
