WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Reps. Doris Matsui and Brett Guthrie introduced legislation to auction the 1755-1780 MHz spectrum band, pairing it with the 2155-2180 MHz band.
The following statement should be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, chairman of Mobile Future:
“The bill introduced today by Representatives Matsui and Guthrie represents important leadership on the critical process of reallocating government spectrum. There have been many conversations around the 1755-1780 MHz spectrum bands, but to date, there has been little progress. With consumer wireless usage and demand continuing to skyrocket, further delay is not an option. All Americans need concrete action now from the federal government to reallocate and share this vital resource. Mobile Future looks forward to working with Representatives Matsui and Guthrie and with all stakeholders to make this spectrum available for commercial use as quickly as possible.”
