Mobile Future Statement on Genachowski Plans to Revamp Universal Service
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In remarks today, Chairman Genachowski discussed plans to revamp the Universal Service Fund.
The following statement should be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, chairman of Mobile Future:
“We applaud Chairman Genachowski for moving forward with plans to reform the Universal Service Fund and for understanding the critical role wireless plays in connecting our nation. The Chairman outlined a solid framework that will serve as a key step toward meeting President Obama’s goal of bringing high speed wireless service to 98 percent of Americans. The 21st century economy relies on access to broadband and we look forward to working with the Chairman and the Commission in their work going forward.”
