WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, NTIA released the agency’s progress report outlining federal spectrum that could be used to meet President Obama’s goal of making available 500 MHz of new spectrum for wireless broadband.
The following statementshould be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, chairman of Mobile Future:
“We appreciate the unprecedented Administration-wide focus on sustainable spectrum policy and NTIA’s significant work to identify government spectrum for reallocation. While today’s report lays out much of the problem, there is still much work to be done to craft a workable prompt solution to freeing additional government spectrum in 1755-1850 MHz band for commercial wireless broadband. We strongly urge Congress to provide the Administration with additional tools to make this spectrum available – and in turn, urge the Administration to continue its leadership in making portions of this band available as soon as practicable to power the economy, create jobs and foster innovation.”
