There were a lot of flame-outs in the NFL this year – Brett Favre, Romeo Crennel, Tom Brady, Eric Mangini, not to mention the entire Detroit Lions. (What was Matt Millen thinking when he used his first- round pick for a wide receiver – THREE YEARS IN A ROW?!)
But while we’re still in the slowly ebbing holiday spirit, we’d like to note truly winning call:
"The National Football League, aware that the stadium experience has soured, has instituted an electronic lifeline. Cellphone texters can privately dial a number displayed at the stadium and complain to security offices without fear of retaliation."
The experiment, which began earlier this year, has been so successful that the NFL is incorporating it for the Super Bowl.
* Sounds Like a Winner
