‘Smart Toothbrush’ Teaches Users How to Brush

Ever wonder if you are brushing your teeth properly? Now your toothbrush can tell you. As reported by Reuters, Proctor & Gamble Co has created an app-connected toothbrush that helps monitor your brushing routine and improves your brushing technique. This bluetooth enabled brush can be programmed by a dentist to provide real-time guidance while the user brushes their teeth, such as when to move to another part of the mouth. This information can be monitored and shared with family or a dentist. While this savvy device still seems far from the pearly whites of the average consumer- it has a recommended retail price of $330- it gives us an exciting glimpse into how the “internet of things” will change even our most commonplace routines, helping to make our lives easier.
