If you took advantage of the Black Friday sales by doing some shopping on your mobile device, you’re definitely not alone! Mobile shoppers saved more than ever this past holiday weekend. According to Adobe, you and other mobile shoppers generated $1.2 billion of the total $3.3 billion spent on Black Friday via online sales. And even if you just browsed on your phone for items to add to your wish list, you are part of the whopping 55% of online retail site visits via mobile device.
Why are so many people moving from PC to mobile for their shopping experience? Well, other than the fact that we are rarely without our smartphones, retailers have also been prioritizing their mobile apps and sites. Today it is easier than ever to take advantage of the best steals and deals. Ebay, for example, made some updates to their app this year, making it simpler for holiday shoppers to browse and compare products. And if you’re looking to snag extra discounts, a lot of retail stores offer app-exclusive sales and coupons. Instagram has even jumped on the bandwagon enabling users to buy products featured on their feeds with shoppable tags. Adobe predicts that mobile shopping will overtake PC shopping in 2018. As retailers continue to enhance the mobile shopping experience , it’s no surprise shoppers are flocking to mobile.
