These Shoes Were Made For Walking (and Talking)

As Mashable reported, a wearable tech startup recently created smart shoes that provide directions without the user having to look at their smartphone or tablet, providing a new navigation aid alternative to those with visual impairments.

Ducere Tech’s new product Lechal (which is Hindi for “take me there”) allows users to enter their destination into the Lechal app (via a navigation app) which then connects to a module that is inserted into the back of the users shoe. The left or right shoe will buzzes to alert the user to which way they need to turn to get to their destination.
