If you’ve been to a rock concert in the last few years, there is often a call to action from the performer and some sort of text campaign kicks in to get audience participation. U2 has frequently utilized opportunities at big arenas to get support for the ONE campaign and they have been effective.
At CTIA’s Spring show I was excited when Bono (via a video clip) discussed their upcoming tour as well as their new tour sponsor, BlackBerry. Bono alluded to taking the interactive aspect up a notch and the first foray seems to be a mobile album for BlackBerry users. Teaser for the mobile album is here.
The upcoming 360 tour should be great and I look forward to more mobile-social announcements like this one from U2!
