Today is Election Day and across the country Americans are heading to the polls to cast their vote, most likely with mobile devices in tow. According to a recently released report by the Pew Research Center, cell phones and social media are an increasingly favored way voters get political news and information.
As the report highlighted:
- 40% of voters have used their mobile device to track political news or a campaign this year, up from 15% in 2010
- 21% follow political figures on social media, up from 6% in 2010
