According to a recent TechCrunch article on social media usage, “Mobile is king.” As TechCrunch reports, mobile handsets have edged out PCs and tablets as the most popular device to access social networks. The survey, conducted by GlobalWebIndex, found that 66% use mobile devices to access social media platforms compared to 64% who use PCs and tablets. The study also found that Instagram is the fastest growing social media service with a 23% increase in users over the past six months. Similar shifts to mobile are seen in how consumers are accessing news and video content.
