FCC Approves New 911 Location Accuracy Rules

January 29, 2015

Today, the FCC approved new rules to help first responders get accurate caller location information for all wireless calls to 911, including for indoor calls.  The rules will help public safety by ensuring they are better able to locate mobile users in emergency situations, particularly in urban areas.

Reinforcing a shared commitment to improving location accuracy, this will ensure the most efficient dispatch of first responders in cases of emergency.
